The weekend of the 4th and 5th May 2024 saw the return of the ever-popular ThumbFest with a wide selection of draft ales from local brewers, food stalls, and live music each day. The Thumb was awarded the CAMRA Branch Pub of The Year for 2024 and there were plenty of ales to sample that put us on the map. There were over a dozen local ales plus a wide selection of lagers, IPA''s, and Ciders.

Saturday 4th May

The music on the Saturday began at 2:30 pm to with The Hootles comprising Jonny Lexus on guitar and vocals, and Matt Wolff on vocals and harmonica.  A captivating acoustic act that brought forgotten classics, lost anthems, and missed hits back to life.

Following The Hootles we had Paddy and James from 5;30 pm, a returning favourite, with popular hits, expertly performed.

We also had two food vendors from 2 pm as we welcomed back Saltsu Katsu Flavours and Wong Dumplings.

Sunday 5th May

The music started at 4:30 pm with all the great hits from the 80s including, Dexys Midnight Runners, Duran Duran, Soft Cell, OMD and many more. The Driscolls performed at The Thumb in 2023 and were very popular.  The music definitely got people dancing.

Saltsu Katsu Flavours were joined from 2 pm by Jakes Bakes, for all those with a sweet tooth.

It was a weekend not to be missed.  Watch out for details of our 2025 ThumbFest.
